Over 100 participants, including 75 Deaf and 34 non-Deaf runners, came together at TAR UMT Kompleks Sukan for Beyond The Noise: Presence in Motion — a unique 5KM Silent Run that celebrated awareness, connection, and unity beyond words.

The event was created by Syed Harris Umar, TRX lululemon Ambassador, and powered by lululemon, as part of an initiative to help individuals step away from daily distractions and reconnect with themselves and each other. The concept emphasises that silence is not emptiness, but a space full of awareness, gratitude, and meaning.

From the early morning warm-up session at 6:30 AM to the silent 5KM run that followed, participants embraced the challenge of moving without conversation, music, or devices — a mindful exploration of presence and self-awareness.

The event also highlighted inclusion and solidarity, with the participation of the Deaf community adding deep resonance to its message. Their presence embodied the very essence of “Beyond The Noise,” showing how connection transcends sound.

All proceeds from the run were channelled to DAWN (Advokasi Pekak Malaysia), a national organisation advocating for the rights, education, and empowerment of Deaf and hard of hearing communities. Founded in 2022, DAWN promotes equal participation and inclusion, with Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) at the heart of communication and community.

Beyond The Noise: Presence in Motion reminded everyone that silence can indeed speak volumes — creating moments of shared awareness, gratitude, and unity that linger long after the finish line.
